Streaming Video

With the internet came a new concept, which is referred to as streaming video.  This seems like a very general term, and many people may not be aware of what the term actually means.  When used on the internet, “streaming” means that a product is being sent from one place to another on a time frame.  Streaming video is a video clip or movie that is being sent over real time from one place to another.  This is a movie that is being constantly supplied to the individuals requesting the video.  The method of the material being transferred is known as streaming, and this is not the medium that is being used.  For example, there is streaming video and streaming audio.  Audio and video are the mediums that are being used in those forms, but the streaming concept refers to the way that the product is being sent from one place to another over the internet or through another method.  Some people do not realize that streaming media was around before the internet, but that it was not referred to as such.  Since there are no so many ways in which people can receive information, including videos, many people are able to understand that there needs to be a distinction between styles of sending.

I always thought I’d been paying the ‘standard price’ for broadband and getting about the same service as everyone else. However, I recently started talking about the subject to my friend over a coffee and found out she was paying about half as much as me for faster speeds and better service. I was amazed at just how much I was spending compared to everyone else. I asked around and did some research online and found out that I’d really been left behind when it comes to finding great prices on broadband deals.

I’ve stuck with the same ISP for three years because it was less hassle and – no surprise – I found out that I was paying some of highest monthly amounts available and was on a package my ISP don’t even sell anymore.

Cheap broadband offers were everywhere though, and I had no idea which ones were going to offer the best value for money. My ever useful friend suggested I compare broadband online, which is something I never thought of doing, even though I always used comparison sites for insurance and travel! Comparing the cheapest broadband deals is just as easy and saves just as much money, especially if you’ve stuck with the same provider for a few years.

I’ve now not only got a faster and more stable connection, I’m paying less money for it. I suggest anyone who’s been putting off research into their broadband provider to go online and use comparison sites to compare broadband offers – I promise you’ll end up saving money and the sooner you do it, the more you’ll save!
